It started in the car on the way home as I picked them up. The big one took the little one’s monkey and the little one showed the world his impressive new crying technique where he opens his mouth and makes a sound a firetruck would envy.

Home, they fought over the Legos. (“Waaaaahhhh!”)

Then the big one tried to steal a ride on the little one’s bike – even though it is way too small for him and must be really uncomfortable (“Waaaaah”).

Then the little one hit the big one. (“Waaaaah”).

On and on it went. Through dinner, baths, teeth brushing and getting PJ’s on.

Taunting, teasing, mocking, fighting, crying, screaming. “Mooooom, he took my…” “Moooom, he hit me..”

On and on.

By the time they were ready for bed, so was I.

In my fragile state I allowed them both to fall asleep in our bed, which they love.

It was quiet.

All of a sudden, I heard a voice:

“Big brother loves you, you know that?”

And then another voice:

“Yes. I love you too.”

Just as I am about to sell them on Ebay, they pull a thing like that. Buggers.

HA! I have a post where I wrote about selling my three month old to the circus, although eBay is an even better idea.

Brotherly love. Each will attack the other mercilessly. And each will be merciless to the fool who might attack their brother.

Interim, I fantasized moving out of the house until they were 20 and hoping there would be a home standing when I chose to return.

    Good luck!
